McGill-Desautels Negotiation Competition

We are proud to present the first edition of the McGill-Desautels Negotiation Competition, which we will hold at McGill University on March 10-11, 2023.

This initiative is a joint effort with the McGill Case Competition Association. Please reach out to Gautam Taneja or me if you have questions. Teams can register here.

Competition Overview

The McGill-Desautels Negotiation Competition is designed to provide students with practical negotiation experience while building on theory learned in the classroom.

Over two days, teams of three will take part in several original negotiation simulations involving various managerial contexts.

From signing business deals to discussing labor conditions between unions and employers, they will have to develop creative and effective solutions while considering all stakeholders involved.

Social events are scheduled to help participants get to know each other and expand their network beyond their own University.

The competition is open to Canadian and international teams of MBA and MSc in Management students. Teams of recent graduates, or senior undergraduates, will be accepted in the competition on a case-by-case basis.

A panel of negotiation scholars and industry experts will judge the competition. We offer generous prizes to winning teams:

  • 1st place: $5,000 CAD
  • 2nd place: $2,500 CAD
  • 3rd place: $1,500 CAD
